It also has a Sony smartphone app where you can control your particular sounds. You can increase your bass tones elevate your mid-ranges or decrease your trebles, if you feel the need.

It’s lightweight and comfortable and has a rated battery life of 30 hours. It also has quick charge capability which should give you 5 hours on a 10 minute charge.

Oh, and you can connect and have voice control with Alexa.

These Sony Noise Cancelling Headphones: WH1000XM3 Wireless Bluetooth Over The Ear w/Mic and Alexa Voice control – Industry Leading Noise Cancellation…Damn it! They’re good.

Nuff said.

Sony WH-XB900N w/Extra Bass Headphones

Sony WH-XB-900NOfficially called the Sony WH-XB900N Wireless Noise Canceling Extra Bass Headphones. This one feels like warm creamy melted butter being poured into my ears.

If you are a bass lover like I am then these will fill your head with some delicious tight low end bass. Thus, the title of Extra Bass. There is enough bass to make your soul cry out in delightful joy. And they provide a great mid-range kick and a spicy spark of tingling treble notes.

Now this little gift of heavenly sound is brought to us by Sony. You may have heard of them before as they are a very diverse company in creating many different things. Well, this creation is one more creation to be proud of. So Sony, if you’re reading this put another notch on your belt.

The Sony WH-XB900N will get you groovin’ for up to 30 hours on a single charge and it also has a quick charge capability where you can charge them for 10 minutes and get an hour’s worth of playback.

Sony GTK-PG10 Portable Bluetooth Speaker

Bring the party to your house, backyard, beach, picnic, park or dorm room. Wherever you go this unit can go with you to bring the partee’.

I call the Sony GPK PG10 The Party Box. This unit is basically a box with a subwoofer with a couple of air ports. But what this baby does with its extras is damn skippy special.

  • The top of this unit can be opened up to reveal a table top that will hold up to four cans of your favorite beveraage’ and in the middle you can put your favorite snack on top too.
  • On the table top flaps there are two tweeters, one on each side to give you that sparkle that goes along with the rumble of the bass subwoofer.
  • The Bass unit comes with a Mega Bass button for a more fuller bass sound.
  • This unit can last up to 12 hours on a single charge making this unit truly wireless and gives great Bluetooth usability.
  • You can plug in any standard mic for Karaoke if you desire. This will also fit on top of any standard PA stand.

This Party Box concept is a great one especially for parties on the smaller size. I mean I wouldn’t recommend it for ragers but I think this would be perfect for a intimate gatherings…Like at my house….Oh oh. Did I just say that?

Sony WF-1000XM3  Noise Canceling Truly Wireless Earbuds

These earbuds are definitely a home run for Sony. They are comfortable, leek and sound amazingly awesome.

Clean, crisp and natural sound is pumped into your ear, then little butterflies are released tickling your ear canals with their little beating wings….No? Okay. But you get the picture.

These earbuds have an expected battery life of 8 hours, plus the 16 hours (two full charges) contained  in the case. So, you can expect a 24 hours of listening time before you have to recharge.

The case can hold two more full charges. You just pop the earbuds into the case when the battery is empty and they will charge up.

You can also do a 10 minute charge and get 90 minutes of playback. Once your case battery is empty you just connect it to a USB port and recharge the case and the earbuds placed in them.

Each earbud has a touch pad on the ear piece, and you change the settings by using the Sony app that will give you even more control.

This is why Sony is so damned good.

Sony SRS-XB41, SRS-XB32 and SRS-XB22 Bluetooth Speaker

I call this beauty the power pill. The Sony SRS – XB41 is the largest so of course it has the best bass of the three models that I am showcasing.

So if bass is our poison, size does matter. That’s what I’ve heard…I wouldn’t know anyth…I mean I don’t know if size does matt…Anyways this Bluetooth unit is larger than the XB32 and XB 22. They both sound good but the  XB41’s larger mass and bigger body will give it the edge in bass output. But as  a  side note all three have bass boost in them. Yay!

The XB41, XB32 and XB22 are all completely wireless and  the three come with a great Lightshow included. Sony XB41 Video

You will be excited to know that Extra Bass sound mode is included giving you a fully immersed 3D sound.

The battery will last up to 24 hours with just music or 14 hours with Extra Bass mode and the Lightshow on. And you would be pleased to know all of them are waterproof, dustproof and shockproof!

You can also pair another speaker for stereo or you can pair with up to 100 wireless speakers making an insane party chain.

Woo Hoo! Party on dude!

Listening to music is subjective. The sound that emanates from  any of these headphones, earbuds, speakers  and the like, will be different for each individual. So please be aware, what may sound good to me doesn’t mean it will sound good to you. Please read or watch reviews on any product that I showcase.  Or listen to a friends’.  Or, go to a retail store and try it out there. A little knowledge can go a long way…then you can buy from me. (Wink, wink)

  1. Hi,

Sony is truly the leader when it comes headphones & speakers. I have personally have used Sony WF-1000XM3. These earphones are super-comfortable in my ears, and have an excellent sound quality. I have enjoyed both music (perfect for both classical and rock). I do find that sometimes the activity detector will get confused, and it will spontaneously change to ambient or pass-through mode. But I think it is still a very useful feature, to have the headphones automatically change its levels when it deems necessary. Overall, I am super-happy with these headphones, and anticipate them working for me for years!

  2. I can only imagine the comfort and high quality sound from these WH-XB900N headphones. I still have the first pair of wireless headphones Sony put out years ago and years later they keep holding their comfort and sound. I have had to replace the battery once which seems to last forever, they made it real easy to replace. I will defiantly have to check out these newer style headphones. Thanks for posting.

  3. Hi courtney,i think your article is awesome .You did bring out all the features .It really looks good .But i dont know if it is my phone ,the article and the comments are side to side .Which made it a little bittle hard to read.Maybe it is because i am using my phone .Anyway ,thanks courtney

  4. These SONY extra bass headphones seem like they would be the perfect way to listen to my favorite music — even in environments that may be loud like a subway or in an airport. I like the size of them too — they look like they are substantial enough to put out great sounds while still being comfortable to wear. I prefer headphones that are obvious (as compared to earbud-types), as they seem to fit me much better.

What should be expected from the “3d” sound feature?

    1. Hello Aly,

I really enjoyed putting these on and listening to the deep full bass that streamed out of these beauties. The Sony WH-XB900N’s are more substantial looking because of the bass ports Sony extended on the earcups.

3D is more of a gaming term that means that you can hear in all directions. Just like if someone is coming up behind you and a car is moving left to right and you can hear a plane above you as well. In short, you can hear in a pair of headphones a real 3D spacial surround sound.

  5. Hello there,

Awesome article, well written. You put very well all together. Personally, I am not so interested in this topic, but my son for sure was when he saw your article. I will definitely have to get some money out of my pocket.

Thanks for sharing (I guess…wink). Keep doing the great job.

  6. The W/Extra Bass Headphone with its lightweight and the battery life span of 30 hours looks much more like a working machine to me. I love bass too and with the sony headpone app come along with this will make a good tool in my hand during my early morning walks. I am using your link immediately to check it up on amazon

  7. Thank you Courtney for the amazing list. Sony is surely the best when it comes to headphones.

I especially liked your review of the Sony WH-XB900N Wireless Noise Canceling Extra Bass Headphones, as I am in love with bass. I can already imagine the ‘melted butter’ you talked about being poured into my ears. I can’t wait to get that one!

Do you have any idea of how much it might cost to order the Sony Extra Bass headphones? And do you know if this particular headphone use an app? I’d appreciate if I can get a feedback.

Thanks again for compiling this article.

    1. Hello John,

I did enjoy writing that review. If you want to see the price of the headphones there is a link to Amazon from my site. It currently sells for $248 and yes it does has a Sony App for the headphones.

      Thanks for the great comment.

  8. Hi,

Thank you very much for the nice review. Your review is so informative. I have some questions. I hope you will answer them quickly.

I had a speaker. But it broke. I want to buy the Sony SRS-XB41, SRS-XB32 and SRS-XB22 Bluetooth Speaker. Will it connect with my PC? I want to connect it with my PC. Does the product have a guaranty or warranty? Can I connect it with a radio?

I have seen the video of the product. I would love to buy it. Soon I will purchase it and I will share my opinion with you .

    1. If your PC has a Bluetooth connection I cant see why not. I bought a Bluetooth speaker and it connects with my PC really well.

Both Amazon and Sony have  product support and Amazon will gladly take your product back if you have problems with it. Amazon offers 90 days of product support. I would think that you would rather deal with Amazon rather than Sony for product replacement. Amazon has a limited 1 year warranty for everything they sell.

  9. Courtney, thank you for your insight. I am clueless when it comes to looking for wireless anything, so this article gave me some really good food for thought. I have owned sony electronics on and off for many years and have always been pleased. So thank you again for introducing me to their wireless products. May have to look into getting something I can use on my kayak.

    1. Annette, thank for commenting on my post. Sony is a great brand to own. Always reliable, dependable and Amazon will accept returns and even service your product if needed. Here is a shortcut to my Sony page if you need to review anything.

      Thank you,

  10. The sound quality that Sony produces with their devices is of another level and I actually own a previous model of the wireless earbud and it was just unbelievable. Now with the introduction of WX 1000XM3 I think it is in a whole new level and I am so impressed. I cannot wait to lay my hands on these

  11. Courtney,

These are good looking headphones! I enjoyed how thorough your review was. I, too, like some bass in my music so the Sony WH-XB900N w/Extra Bass Headphones appealed to me. I have a pair of earbuds that have worked out ok. Do you have recommendations for Bluetooth headphones to use while exercising? I enjoyed your post!

    1. I did buy myself the Sony WH-XB900N’s and I love them. I would use them for the gym, if they open up again. My state governor will probably outlaw them. As for the gym,I would recommend them for weightlifting but not for cardio because of heat build up in the ear. And because I don’t sweat profusely. Covering the ear with over the ear headphones will encourage heat build up. But there are plenty of earphones that are good for the gym and are water and sweat resistant. Checkout my earphone selection on my website.

      Thanks for your comment.
